Prototyping

We love to build prototypes in a flash!
We believe that with a holistic approach to design, art, and technical constraints, prototypes can be scoped to both demonstrate capabilities and do so artfully and delightfully.

Interactive Prototyping

Polymath has had the unique opportunity to explore and develop interactive experiences that combine leading AR/VR technologies and middlewares with our favorite interactive frameworks such as UE4. We believe that due to our founder's professional backgrounds in Experience Prototyping and our passion for art, Polymath is uniquely positioned to deliver high-end prototypes and demos that go beyond just proving technical capabilities with "programmer art".

Instead, we believe that with a holistic approach to design, art, and technical constraints, prototypes can be scoped to both demonstrate capabilities and do so artfully and delightfully.

Augmented Reality

While a part of the UX Development team at Intel Realsense, co-founders Edgard Ortega and Garrett Stevens had the opportunity to help develop the Unreal Engine 4 Plugin for Intel Realsense's SDK. Subsequently, we spent our time creating content, procedural techniques and shaders that leverage real time scene scanning to transform an AR scene completely from a video feed into a fully unique 3D environment.

The Intel Realsense UE4 Plugin is now available for download for free from the UE4 Marketplace!

2 )Geometry Mesh from Depth Camera and Intel Realsense SDK

3) We wrote "smart" procedural shaders that aesthetically transform the geometry mesh from a polygon soup into a convincing landscape with grass, sand and cliff layers. Running in realtime and synchronized with tracking live in UE4.

4) We designed procedural set dressing techniques with the engine tools and blueprint to create rules where water, grass, or other set dressing assets could appear. This is still an image of the "augmented" video feed live, where we have now transformed the scanned playspace entirely to feel like a remote island.
All of this was achieved live in realtime without preconceived knowledge of the scanned scene, running on a tablet with the Realsense Plugin for UE4

Game Jams

We love participating in jams and building out ideas in a flash!
For us game jams are the perfect excuse to pull out all the stops and rev our creative engines in a hurry. We usually enjoy running jams over the span of a weekend, where the whole team comes together to create things that are both fully playable and elegant to display. We also participate in the Global Game Jam every year in San Francisco.

If you have a sweet idea that needs prototyping fast, we'd love to help!
